Let’s get to it! 👇🏼
🤖 Google DeepMind: A bold move in AI
Google announced that DeepMind and the Google Brain team will merge, forming a new unit called Google DeepMind. This collaboration aims to accelerate progress in AI and develop more capable and responsible AI systems.
DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis will lead the new unit, which will focus on bringing together world-class AI talent with the necessary resources to create groundbreaking AI breakthroughs and products across Google and Alphabet.
By merging Google Brain and DeepMind, we can expect groundbreaking advancements in AI technology. As Google DeepMind, they'll work on solving some of the hardest scientific and engineering challenges of our time, driving the next wave of world-changing breakthroughs.
🖥️ Google’s Bard gets a major update: Now it helps you code!
Google Research's Bard (ChatGPT competitor) now offers programming assistance, including code generation, debugging, and explanation. This update supports over 20 programming languages, such as C++, Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, and TypeScript.
Here are 4 of the new capabilities:
Generate code and export your Python code to Google Colab (no copy paste required)
Write functions for Google Sheets
Explain code (it can clarify major GitHub repos' code without needing a copy-paste)
Debug your code and explain errors
The bottom line: Google is making an effort to keep pace with ChatGPT. However, Bard is still an early experiment; its reliability remains unproven.
