🤖 LinkedIn Introduces AI-Based Advertising Tools

In another instance of AI invading the world of advertising, LinkedIn has unveiled its latest tool, designed to offer suggestions for different ad copies. What's making headlines? It's yet another application of OpenAI (GPT) models!

These AI-powered tools are appearing just weeks after Meta rolled out a suite of generative AI-based tools to aid advertisers in campaign creation (we’ve covered this in an earlier edition 😉). LinkedIn’s tool goes a step further, using data from a marketer’s LinkedIn page and Campaign Manager settings to generate alternate introductory text for their ads.

Want to give it a whirl? It’s simple. Advertisers simply need to enter their copy into the “introductory text” box within the Campaign Manager and hit the “Generate copy suggestions” toggle. Voila! A fresh, AI-generated copy suggestion is ready.

But hold your horses! The feature is currently in its test phase, limited to a select group of North American customers. But don’t fret, LinkedIn plans to add new features, extend its geographic availability, and add multilingual support in the coming months.

🎥 Runway's Gen-2: Text-to-Video AI - Promises and limitations

Ever thought AI might make movies one day? Director Joe Russo (yeah, the one who directed Avengers: Endgame!) thinks it's closer than we imagine. Runway, a Google-backed AI startup, just released Gen-2, a tool that creates videos from text prompts or images.

Sounds groundbreaking, right? But, it's not all smooth sailing. While Gen-2's got some flair, the videos have a low frame rate and a bit of a vintage filter look. The physics is more Dali painting than real life, and it struggles with nuances in the prompts.

On the upside, it's pretty fair - it doesn't seem to favor any particular demographics. However, filmmakers and CGI artists don't need to start job hunting yet. Gen-2's more novelty than professional tool at this stage. But who knows what the future holds?
